We have an excellent opportunity for a Production Manager at this superb family business based on the outskirts of Leeds City Centre. The Role of Production Manager Our client is a traditional family business have been manufacturers of high quality suede leather for the shoe industry for over 100 years. We are looking for a suitably experienced person to manage the production and assist with the planning of a weekly schedule to ensure targets are met. Working in conjunction with departmental heads, technical staff and senior management, you must be flexible in your approach with daily changes in priorities. As you are working with a natural product, there are frequent changes to the planned work and the successful individual has to be prepared to change schedules on a regular basis and communicate this to the relevant people. Principal Accountabilities as Production Manager * Drive performance and efficiency through the integration of various departments * Optimize costs in the departments through continuous improvement programs * Achieve departmental key performance * Implement and monitor manufacturing best practice * Manage departmental resources and production volumes * Ensure the Health and Safety of employees and contractors in conjunction with H&S Officer The Person For the position of Production Manager you will need: * Relevant experience in a similar role * To be a pragmatic person rather than someone with qualifications * Proven experience in working under pressure, to tight deadlines and challenging goals * Confidence when giving instructions to others * Strong communication skills: interpersonal, verbal and written * Able to take initiative and solve or ideally, prevent, problems Rewards For the role of Production Manager there is a salary on offer £25,000 to £30,000 and the working hours will be 7.30am to 4pm. The working week is Monday to Friday.
