Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a motor insurance Underwriter to join one of the UK's leading providers of Motor and Home insurance products, based at their modern offices in the market town of Reigate.
The ideal candidate will have previous motor insurance experience, be a good communicator, have strong literacy and numeracy skills and the ability to multitask.
The purpose of the role is to provide underwriting support for all motor products to all business areas across all the company's sites.
Responsibilities include;
·Reviewing competitor products and prices to provide accurate information for reporting purposes and make recommendations based on findings to enhance the customers experience of products.
·Conduct research and analysis of the market, including the use of comparison tools to drive and generate change in the company's products and business processes.
·Keeping up-to-date of market developments and wider insurance industry changes as well as gather and report on customer feedback attained via various sources with the aim of initiating product improvements and responding to customer needs.
·Completion of files and papers based on research and analysis for review by the Head of Motor Underwriting.
The role requires the candidate to work using their own initiative and within their own level of authority whilst maintaining close relationships with all underwriting teams and demonstrate clear thought process, taking into consideration the impact on the customer and the business and respond accordingly. You must be comfortable managing a high volume of work, prioritising, working to deadlines and dealing with sensitive information.
In order to apply you must have the following;
·Previous motor insurance experience
·Be authorised to use Delegated Authority
·Good interpersonal skills
·Self-motivated with a pro-active approach
·Excellent organisational skills
·Good communication skills - both written and verbal
·PC literate MS Office
·Self-motivated, team player and the ability to work under pressure and multi-task
·Educated to A levels
