This is a fantastic opportunity to work with my Gloucester based client in their Accounts Payable department. This will be a varied role and my client is looking for candidates who have some accounts or financial administration experience. It would be an excellent opportunity for a maths graduate looking to bring enthusiasm and knowledge to a well-established company.

The Role:

Reporting to the Material AP Supervisor, this role is to ensure that the accounts payable transaction for our client’s EMEA division is carried out in a timely and highly accurate manner.

The ideal candidate will work within the Accounts Payable Team committed to processing vendor invoices correctly while ensuring that the clients best interests are met.

The candidate will be a key contributor to the Accounts Payable function ensuring that standards are high, ethically, for reporting and audit retention purposes.

You will work with specific targets to optimise the Accounts Payable function and to ensure the client support their buying and sales teams.

Responsibilities:

  • To review and clear all non-payable invoices for a set group of vendors
  • To ensure that the AP debt meets its targets and deadlines to ensure on-time payment
  • Communicate and work with the support team in the AP office
  • Provide cover where needed in times of high workload and holiday periods
  • Work with other departments for the client to ensure that AP payments are made on time and communicate issues with invoices effectively to reduce internal delays
  • Reconcile vendor statements and clear debit balances on vendor accounts
  • To ensure that queries do not ages and ensure action is taken

Person Specification:

  • The ideal candidate will have strong AP experience
  • A good knowledge of AP finance, commercial awareness and bookkeeping
  • Strong IT skills in both Excel and Database Systems
  • You will be a strong communicator, able to deal with both external and internal needs
  • You will be able to demonstrate working as part of a team and be flexible to the demands of a fast-moving environment and company.
  • Good organisational skills, data entry, data retention and attention to detail are essential
