Information Security Analyst - Global Logistic Company

Global Logistics Company are recruiting for an Information Security Advisor to work in a strategic level role under a lead Information Security Consultant involved in defining regional security policies, processes and standards. The security analyst works with the IT department to select and deploy technical controls to meet specific security requirements, and defines processes and standards to ensure that security configurations are maintained.

  • Work with the company's global security team as well as in house security teams from other regions to identify security requirements; using methods that may include risk and business impact assessments. Components of this activity include but are not limited to:
    • Business system analysis.
    • Communication, facilitation and consensus building
  • Assists in the coordination and completion of information security operations documentation.
  • Develop strategies and plans to enforce security requirements and address identified security risks.
  • Raise information security leadership and HR teams to raise information security awareness and develop training plans.
  • Work across IT projects to ensure that security issues are addressed throughout the project life cycle.
  • Provide IT Support to departments and members of the information security team to identify, select and implement technical controls.
  • Research new threats and advises on any necessary communication or extra controls to counter these

Definition and Implementation of Controls

  • Works with the IT Governance team to define security configuration and operations standards for security systems and applications, including policy assessment and compliance tools, network security appliances, and host-based security systems.
  • Works with the Governance and Regional Infrastructure teams to develop and validate baseline security configurations for operating systems, applications, and networking and telecommunications equipment.

Incident Detection and Response

  • Provides second- and third-level support and analysis during and after a security incident.
  • Provides guidelines for the recording of security incidents and ensures that these guidelines are followed
  • Assists security administrators and IT staff in the resolution of reported security incidents.
  • Participates in security investigations and compliance reviews, as requested by internal or external auditors.

Breadth & range of responsibilities

  • Works on projects/systems/issues of medium to high complexity.
  • Provides support in designing, implementing, supporting and maintaining network systems.
  • Works on one or more projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project leader.

Skills, Qualifications and Expertise

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
  • Has 5 -10 years of IT work experience in network/infrastructure environments in network design, implementation, administration and support along with voice solutions.
  • Experience in developing, documenting and maintaining network policies, processes, procedures and standards.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, including Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and the associated network protocols and concepts.
  • Evidence of organisational skills and team coordination
  • Excellent communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of risk assessment methods and technologies.
  • Proficiency in performing risk, business impact, control and vulnerability assessments
