Legal Assistant / Paralegal - Health - Advisory and Litigation

£20,000 - £25,000

Manchester City Centre

We are recruiting for a Legal Assistant / Paralegal working for my key client based in Spinningfields, in Manchester, one of the few teams outside London to specialise healthcare work, with a very specialised, progressive and expanding team.

Based in their Manchester Office, the successful Legal Assistant / Paralegal will play an integral part in the continued success and growth of this highly valued team. You will receive technical and soft skill training on a regular basis to ensure you have all the tools at your disposal to be successful; you will also receive a competitive remuneration package which is reviewed annually and have access to our extensive flexible benefits program.

Main responsibilities

As a Legal Assistant / Paralegal in our Manchester Office we expect you to deliver the following:

  • Running your own busy case load subject to supervision.
  • Assisting more senior members of the team with more complex cases.
  • Drafting proceedings, court applications, correspondence and other key legal documents.
  • Checking and collating documents including court bundles.
  • Preparing legal disclosure.
  • Junior fee earning case work including instructing experts, agents and counsel.
  • Diary management for cases.
  • Creating action plans and priority lists.
  • Preparing minutes of internal and client meetings.
  • Preparing monthly reports.

  • Previous Legal Assistant / Paralegal experience, ideally in litigation.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Accuracy, good organisational skills and flexibility.
  • Ability to work well as part of a busy team.
  • Good knowledge of Word and Outlook is required and experience in Excel.
