An excellent job opportunity is available for an experienced Lead Software Developer to join a highly successful and growing technology consultancy business which provides the very best in bespoke software solutions across a variety of market sectors. They work with variety of blue-chip clients and provide an opportunity to work on a range of different technologies. This is an on-site position in our Newcastle office, but some travel, including travel abroad, will be involved.
Your new role
This is a hands on, client-facing role, offering the opportunity to be involved in full development life cycle. You will be passionate about doing software engineering right, and ultimately delivering great solutions to the clients.
Company follows an Agile approach with solid development practices, and are looking for creative and self-motivated problem solvers with a demonstrable passion for technology.
This is a technical role which will also involve mentoring talents within the organisation through formal continuing professional development activities, as well as informal study groups.
The office in in the city centre location enabling an easy, car-free commute.
What you'll need to succeed
You are a skilled and passionate Lead Software Developer and you should have:
- Commercial JAVA or C#.NET experience with enterprise level systems
- Expertise in Agile methodology
- Good technical design skills including, where appropriate, OO design principles and design patterns
- A relevant university degree
- Experience of leading teams or managing client projects
- Professional business approach
It would also be great if you have:
- Exposure to the full software development lifecycle
- Previous experience in a consultancy
- Involvement in open source project
