Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a public sector organisation in the North West to recruit an Interim Procurement Specialist / Manager. It will initially be for three months however is likely to be extended due to a number of projects that will arise over the upcoming months.


  • Leading and delivering a number of high profile complex projects, which will demonstrate and deliver value for money and innovation whilst meeting the needs of the organisation
  • Undertake quotations, local tendering and EU tendering exercises ensuring adherence to Trust standing financial instructions and EU Procurement regulations
  • Responsible for procurement and supply chain activities across the organisation whilst supporting the Head of Procurement in the development and delivery of the organisations Procurement Strategy
  • Provide sound Procurement advice in-line with Trust standing financial instructions and EU procurement regulations to both internal Procurement team members and staff across the organisation whilst engaging, building and maintaining strategic working relationships with both internal/external colleagues and suppliers
  • As a strong influencer and an experienced negotiator the post holder will proactively challenge current practices and strive to deliver continuous improvement, offering better patient experiences and outcomes through effective market testing of expenditure


  • Fully conversant with the application of EU/UK procurement legislation/tendering processes & procedures
  • Experience of contract, stakeholder & supplier management
  • Ideally full Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (MCIPS) qualification & Membership by examination but this is not essential
