Job Title: Youth Worker
Location: Kingston, Surrey
Pay rate: £9.97 per hour increasing to £11.43 after 12 weeks
Hours: 15 hours to week - Monday-Friday (11:30am - 2:30pm)
Duration: Ongoing

Our REED Education FE branch are currently working with a great college on an exciting new role in the Surrey area.

Starting immediately, the college are looking for an outstanding Youth Worker to join them on a temporary basis.

The College:

Our client is one of the highest performing colleges in London, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in February 2013. It is a major provider of further, higher and adult education to over 10,000 students.

The Role:


· Play a key role in engaging with students in the Common Room and around the College, and ensuring that students maintain reasonable standards of behaviour.
· Positively challenge students, encourage and support students to be punctual and attend lessons.
· Deliver structured activity independently or with others as required.
· Work with the student support Advisers to promote a challenging and stimulating environment for this age group.
· Work with the Student Support Team and other staff to promote the active participation of students in the life of the College by encouraging and supporting students of all abilities to take part and develop their interest in activities that are offered.
· Promote student representation and encourage student participation in the running of activities within the programme.
· Engage and work with individuals and groups in an informal and formal basis.

What you will need:

· A minimum Level 2 qualification in Maths and English or equivalent
· Recent experience in a Youth Work position
· Experience leading activities and enrichment in an education setting.
