This delightful Private Girls School based in Central London is currently looking to bring on board a dynamic, social, well connected and exceptional communicator to be their Alumane and Events Officer. Their long term aim is to establish an External Relations Department, with its own Director and team of staff, which will run the Foundation alongside other duties.

Direct reporting to the Principal, but being accountable to other members of the Senior Management Team and other Senior staff for some of their responsibilities.

The successful applicant will have ideally have the following:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent;
  • A good understanding of social media, and the need to use this effectively to engage with Old Girls;

  • Some knowledge or experience of fundraising is desirable;

  • Accuracy and good attention to detail and the desire and ability to take ownership of his/her tasks, to work without direct supervision

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, including diplomacy, and an excellent telephone manner are essential;

  • Excellent verbal and writing skills, with the ability to adapt his/her style to convey the relevant messages accurately and effectively to different audience needs;

  • A high degree of organisational ability;

  • Excellent IT skills, and a willingness/aptitude to develop these, are essential. In particular knowledge of MS Office is required. The ability to use databases efficiently and accurately will be required and a basic knowledge of HTML is an advantage;

  • An understanding of and empathy with the independent school sector, together with a commitment to the School community and its purpose and future prosperity;

  • Flexibility to work calmly and reliably in a busy School, both in a team and independently, with energy, initiative and cheerful enthusiasm for developing the role and to undertake training as required;

  • The ability and willingness to go beyond his/her own responsibilities to help others at busy times and to work outside normal hours as required.

The hours are 8.30am - 5pm. You may be expected on some occasions to be available for work at weekends and in the evenings.
