Cognos Analytics - Senior Support




From £35,000 to £40,000 pa dependent on experience.

Job Description:

A Cognos Analytics (BI) Support Specialist is urgently required for one of the fastest growing Cognos Business Partners in the UK. The role sits within their fast expanding consultancy practice which is devoted to assisting their reputable, blue-chip clients across multiple sectors overcome their information management challenges and unlocking the capability of their data.

The role requires preferably over 2 years' experience and should ideally come from a Cognos development background, although this is not essential. All applicants must have significant stakeholder management expertise and be highly adept at interfacing with the business and understanding the commercial objectives of their work. The candidate must be able to work on their own without supervision and lead a small team of support analysts.They should have excellent communication skills and can adapt where needed to both technical and business people.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading a small team of Cognos skilled support analysts.
  • Distributing, progressing and reporting workload.
  • Support, diagnosis and fix on existing BI installations.
  • Building and maintaining good customer relationships.
  • Producing appropriate documentation.

Favoured Technical Skills:

  • Good experience in at least some of the following BI tools: IBM Cognos 10/11 suite, IBM Cognos Report Studio, IBM Cognos Framework Manager, IBM Cognos Analysis Studio, IBM Cognos Metric Manager, IBM Cognos Query Studio, IBM Cognos Workspace Advanced. IBM Cognos Data Manager/Decision Stream, Infosphere Datastage. IBM Cognos TM1 / Planning Analytics.
  • Database Skills: SQL Server, Oracle, DB2.
  • Some knowledge of ETL and data integration would be helpful.
  • Ability to self-manage and supervise a small team.
