Edustaff have been approached by a primary school in Solihull that are actively recruiting a newly qualified teacher for their foundation stage. This position will start in the new academic year (4th September) and is full time and permanent. The school are flexible on the NQT joining them in either a nursery or reception class and will move current staff around accordingly, based on who joins them.

The school have high expectations of NQTs, as they do of all teaching staff, and are ideally looking for a teacher that is working towards being graded as ‘Outstanding’ on their professional placements and as a minimum ‘Good’. Perhaps more importantly they are looking for a NQT that is creative, enthusiastic and passionate about their new career, attitude is everything to this school.

The school holds around 200 pupils and is a 1 form entry primary based in a desirable area of Solihull. There are a small proportion of pupils who don’t speak English as their first language as well as a below average number of pupils on free school meals. The school is set in nice grounds with two large outdoor areas that the pupils both play and learn in. The school was last deemed by Ofsted to be a ‘Good’ school with teaching being judged as ‘outstanding’.

The school is led by a senior leadership team that are committed to supporting and guiding NQTs as they start their career. Each year they take on two or three NQTs across the Key Stages so are experienced in meeting the demands new teachers face.

Interviews will be conducted with the Foundation Stage Phase Leader and the school’s Head teacher. Candidates will be expected to give a lesson to one of their foundation classes followed by a tour of the school and an interview.
