You'll be responsible for the delivery of a broad, balanced and up-to-date curriculum to your students, monitoring and supporting their progress along the way. You'll prioritise the raising of academic attainment, supporting and encouraging students to fulfil their true potential. Day to day, you'll be responsible for: planning and delivering lessons, attending relevant staff meeting and parents' evenings, marking work, keeping up to date with relevant developments within the field and ensuring effective deployment of classroom support staff.
This is a permanent, full-time position starting in April or September (depending on your availability). The position is suitable for both an NQT or experienced Maths Teacher, salary will be dependent on your experience.
Based in Hackney, East London, the school is currently rated as 'Good' by OFSTED. You'll need to have a degree in mathematics or a maths-related subject, as well as completing your PGCE or equivalent. Ideally, you'll hold UK QTS or be an NQT maths teacher looking to complete your qualifying year. You'll have a solid understanding of the UK Maths curriculum requirements at key stage 3 and 4. You'll be able to effectively manage your own workload and have excellent time management skills.
As the ideal maths teacher, you'll have DfE recognised QTS and a proven track record of teaching maths in UK secondary schools. You'll have a positive approach to your work and lead by example. You'll ooze passion for maths and be prepared to contribute to school life outside of teaching, being part of the wider school community, including parents and other key stakeholders.
