Accounts Assistant - Part Time (16 hrs per week) (Weds 9-5 & Fridays 9-5) Highly successful engineering firm are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant who is self-motivated and a proactive person with excellent communication skills. You must be enthusiastic and responsible with extensive Sage 50 experience. Responsibilities and Duties. Sales Ledger- Invoicing clients daily, dealing with credit control and all aspects of sales ledger. Purchase ledger- Posting invoices, issuing payments to suppliers, reconciling purchase ledger. Dealing with petty cash, company cards. Banking- posting all bank transaction including direct debit, bank transfers, standing orders, supplier payments and customer receipts. VAT returns- Dealing with quarterly VAT returns, ensuring VAT rates are applied correctly when sales and purchase tax are calculated and reconciling VAT returns, Completing payroll Other duties include- dealing with client and supplier queries, filing and answering phone calls. General Office Duties Must be able / flexible to cover Staff Holidays & Sickness Experience Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Sage 50 accounting system Competence with Microsoft office products is essential, especially with use of Excel at an advanced level. Ability to manage own workload and work as part of a small team. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office. Ability to work to tight deadlines. Must have extensive knowledge of Sage Line 50 Must have great attention to detail and be computer literate with strong numerical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
