We are advertising this position on behalf of Navaho Technologies Ltd. This position is based in Stafford, Staffordshire. Navaho Technologies Ltd is a UK firm with over 18 years’ experience in various areas of IT, from development and support of their own lines of successful network security and digital display products to running managed services supporting Windows and Linux server environments. The company is looking for someone to join our growing IT Helpdesk Team working in their managed network services and network security department. As a 1st Line Support Engineer, in addition to opening and investigating tickets, you will be expected to help perform a number of duties on servers and systems, these include: • Responding to failed backups, investigate and re-run if appropriate, • Checking systems are updated and that automated updates have been • applied, • Testing internal and client systems and software where required, • Other regular checks to systems, servers and networks. • This is not a typical call center, you will not spend all day on the phone, but you will be expected to answer one or two phone calls a day and handle appropriately. An ideal 1st Line Support Engineer will hold the following skills and experiences: • You will be a team player with a passion for IT • Ideally you will have experience (or at least knowledge) of logging and responding to tickets or incidents both over the phone and via an email based system. • You will have some experience of hardware and software based issues, although it will mainly be software based support you provide. This is a 1st Line Support role, it may be suitable for the right school or college leaver, or someone who has recently completed a relevant apprenticeship or similar learning eg CompTIA, MCDST etc. Your application would really benefit from knowledge and / or experience with systems including: • WSUS, • Windows Server 2008, 2008r2 and 2012 • HyperV • Terminal Services / Remote Desktop • Symantec Backup Exec You should also mention any knowledge or experience of: • Networking • Routers • Switch Management • Linux You should have a good GCSE or equivalent in English and knowledge of other languages maybe a bonus.
