Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Denton - Stockport - Manchester - M34 2JF
Salary: £19.35 per hour (£42,260 per annum, paid weekly)

Hours: Full Time - Working 42 hours per week
Sunday, Monday & Tuesday, 6.00pm to 6.30am and Wednesday, 6.00pm to 12.00am

About The Factory

This factory has been extensively modernised with extensive capital expenditure over previous months and is now one of the most efficient factories in the UK.

For the past 20 years the Denton site has been at the forefront of the development of Environmental Management Systems within UK brick manufacturing. In 1996 Denton became the first brick factory in the world to be certified to the Environmental Management System standard BS EN ISO 14001 (then called BS 7750).

About The Role

We are currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at our Denton factory near Manchester.
Working as part of the maintenance team to ensure that all plant equipment and machinery on site are operating efficiently with the minimum amount of downtime and they are kept in safe and good mechanical working order.

Ensure safe working at all times with a right first time every time by everyone attitude to produce a cost effective, quality product whilst adhering to the Company’s policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out the necessary maintenance operations to all plant equipment and machinery in line with Company requirements.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all breakdown situations to minimise plant downtime.
  • Carry out all planned preventative maintenance as requested.
  • Ensure that all plant and machinery is kept in a good working and clean condition.
  • Assist with the installation of new plant equipment.
  • Maintain and monitor the machines and equipment to enable them to achieve their budgeted outputs at the required quality levels.
  • Ensure that all machine guards are fitted correctly in accordance with H&S requirements.

About You

Essential experience

  • ONC in Mechanical engineering
  • Full mechanical apprenticeship
  • IT Literate

Desirable experience

  • HNC in Mechanical engineering
  • Health & Safety qualification (IOSH)
  • Electrical Qualification to show competency
