Senior Commercial / Pricing Analyst Location: Surrey Salary: DOE I am currently working on behalf of a leading global insurance brand and one of the Sunday Times Top 25 Best Big Companies to work for as they are looking to welcome on board a Senior Commercial Analyst in the Retail Partnerships team. This is a rare opportunity to operate at the forefront of data analysis while supporting one of the company’s most high-profile retail accounts. The overall purpose of the role is to perform analysis to assist in the development and delivery of the Pricing Strategy and associated financial plan metrics for defined channels and products within the Retail Partnerships portfolio. Responsibilities include: • Conducting analysis and scenario testing to define the Pricing Strategy, overall business strategy and Financial Planning targets including; new business and renewal price point analysis, target parameters for non-risk income generation and forecasting assumptions • Undertaking analysis and scenario testing to define the business performance strategy and Financial Plan. Included in this are GWP target, Loss Ratio targets, and Contribution per policy and Combined Ratio targets • Monitoring and analysing actual business performance against planned KPI targets on a dynamic basis • Identifying opportunities and formulating strategies and proposals to capitalise on them • Helping to define the Underwriting Footprint and risk appetite for the channel/product • Working collaboratively with all other functional business areas to help identify and prioritise the right operational improvement activity that is aligned to the overall P&L for the channel/product • Communicating business performance, financial plans, commercial decisions and trade-offs clearly and accurately to different stakeholders (Senior Internal Managers, Sales, Marketing, Distribution, and External Partners) The successful applicant will have: • A successful track record in analytics / statistics / pricing, gained within a general insurance environment (may well have worked in an actuarial or underwriting function) • A good Honours Degree in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Statistics or Operational Research • An ability to challenge assumptions and established management views, supported by robust logic and analytical evidence • Excellent communication and relationship-management skills • Demonstrable ability to operate within a high-performing team environment In return you will receive: • A highly competitive basic salary • Bonus Scheme linked to yours and the company’s performance • Pension scheme with employer contributions as well as own Life Assurance (10 x basic salary) • 25 days annual leave, rising to 28 with service (plus bank holidays) • Interest free season ticket loan scheme Should you have the specific industry experience required as detailed above and wish to be considered for the role, please forward your CV including full salary details or call 0113 234 0500 for more information.
