Software Consultant (C/C++) Ickelton, Cambridge Competitive annual salary D.O.E + Excellent Company Bonus Scheme + Company benefits including Private Healthcare, Pension and Death in Service benefit To help us continue our path of growth and development excellence, we are looking to recruit a Software Engineer to join the electronic engineering group. The ideal person will have a track-record in the engineering of software systems within a highly regulated environment (e.g. medical, automotive or aerospace), with programming and scripting experience in C and/or C++ and Python. To be successful in this role, the right candidate will be someone who is a self-starter and can manage their own time and workload. They will have excellent communication skills, able to build relationships with colleagues and contractors from across the organisation as well as clients and collaborators. This role involves working on a range of projects, so will be suited to individuals who enjoy variety and are able to work flexibly. The key responsibilities of Software Consultant (C/C++) include: Design, development and verification of robust, innovative, capable and reliable software systems for the healthcare / medical / medtech industries Detailed software and firmware development for high-volume medical products. Support business development activities relevant to Team’s software offering Participate in Team’s cross-discipline medical device product development projects - e.g. brainstorms, risk assessments, design development, design testing, sales meetings / presentations Working as part of the project team to ensure Quality Management System requirements are met. In addition and depending on your specific expertise and breadth of experience, there will also be scope for technical contribution on a range of projects, in a capacity of advisor, consultant or technical reviewer. Essential skills & experience of Software Consultant (C/C++): Significant experience and track record in the engineering of software systems including PC tools, Apps, and embedded systems – ideally in medical systems and/or devices OR from a similarly regulated industry (i.e. automotive, aerospace, defence etc.) Experience in programming embedded software in C and/or C++ Experience in a scripting language such as Python Experience in real time systems using a real time operating system. A good understanding of hardware. Experience of multi-disciplinary development projects. Able to create software documentation. Experience of working within a regulated software development lifecycle including; requirements capture and analysis, software architecture design, implementation and verification including: Participation in Design Reviews; Risk and Hazard analysis activities; Testing of Software Modules; Integration of modules with electronics & Software verification Degree qualified in software, systems or electronic engineering discipline. Structured and methodical problem-solving ability. Excellent communication skills, including communicating to a range of technical and non-technical audiences.
