Alternative Investment Research firm based in Richmond requires a Junior Analyst to support the team.

The Company:

Based in Richmond on Thames, Surrey, the firm specialises in providing focused alternative-investment research to institutional clients, Financial Advisers and High Net Worth investors. Through an innovative web-based platform, investors gain access to a huge array of interrogative tools to assess the performance of investments in Enterprise Investment Schemes, Inheritance Trusts, Venture Capital Trusts and other investment products designed to provide tax advantages.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a small but growing business that has already gained a significant position in the market.

The Role

Your role will be primarily focused on analysing a huge range of funds and investment vehicles; identifying and valuing the underlying assets, monitoring the performance of the funds and creating insightful reports based on your comparable analysis.

The Candidate:

* Degree educated (preferably in either finance, accounting, mathematics or science)
* A minimum of 2 years experience within either a financial analysis role or in financial journalism
* Excellent report writing skills - you will be expected to write compelling, insightful and interesting reports regularly. (This is essential and will be tested in the interview process).
* Strong analytical skills - the ability to read through a large amount of data, interpret & interrogate the information and then use your creativity to write conclusive reports based on your analysis.
* You must have strong MS Excel skills and be comfortable working with large amounts of data
* A team-centric approach - this role will require you to collaborate on almost every project you undertake.
* Monitoring developments in the marketplace and any regulatory changes that may affect the reviews
* To work within a small but dedicated team, manage own workflows such that reviews are produced to time and budget while maintaining quality
* Maintaining schedules of reviews to be undertaken and providing updates to fund managers and product promoters

This is an excellent opportunity to move into an investment research position and receive the coaching, development and support of a highly experienced team.
