Software Development Lead Engineer


£50,000 - £55,000 per annum + Contributory Pension starting at 5% matched contributions

Software Development Lead Engineer required within highly successful consultancy and solutions provider.

The role will be suited to experienced lead/senior software development engineers with a strong software development background and a sound understanding of the test methodologies, platforms and processes. Those from a Mathematics, science or engineering degree background are well suited. Web based programming background is highly desirable, i.e. python, javascript or C#. 

The role will be working as part of a project team in all stages of development of specialist test packages for a variety of technical media brands and manufacturers. You will have a broad scope of responsibility from client liaison to understand requirements to determine if they can work with an off the shelf test product or require a bespoke solution. You will work directly for the departments’ project manager on the full product development life-cycle for test products from requirements analysis, work-breakdown, and estimation to implementation, test and release.

The role in brief:

* Design, build and test testing applications and frameworks
* Assist in developing work breakdown structures and corresponding estimates
* Analyse complex technical standards to determine testing requirements and approach
* On occasion work directly with customers to establish requirements, present solution and be the technical interface on customer led bespoke development project
* Lead and champion engineering best practices and promote new ideas and improvements to the team and wider organisation.

The Person Required:

* Experienced software development engineer with testing experience or strong understanding of test methodologies and practices at a project lead level.
* Desire to work in a busy and challenging projects team based environment
* Live within commutable distance or willing to relocate to the Central Bristol area.
