Our client, a global tier one supplier of precision manufactured components to the Automotive Furniture and Construction industries, has a number of manufacturing sites in the UK and a total staff complement for this one product area of over 1,000 personnel. Delivering many product lines around the world, with an enviable order book, they are in an excellent position. They now seek to optimise their expertise, sharing best practice across their sites, creating an even better system of operation in all areas of their business and a genuine culture of continuous improvement. To that end, they now seek a genuinely world class 'Continuous Improvement Manager', to work with the senior management team in achieving this objective. At an early stage of their lean journey, the opportunities to; improve, share best practice and support each other, in a genuinely collaborative fashion are many. The expectations of this role are both realistic and stretching, but you will enjoy proper funding and the full support of the whole team on all sites. For the right candidate this role will be an exciting position. As that ideal candidate you will have a rare combination of skills and experiences. Probably a graduate, you will have an excellent 'precision manufacturing' background prior to specialising in Continuous Improvement / Operations Excellence / Lean implementation. As a genuine 'C.I. Expert', you will demonstrate a clear and proven track record of devising and implementing strategic and tactical lean transformations, over time on multiple sites. You will be capable of generating a true lean culture: generating road maps for process improvement, implementing six sigma initiatives, using lean tools such as; 5S, Kaizen, TPM & VMS, you will both train and coach others to embed these concepts in the whole team. Last but not least, you will have the strength of character to see the job through, make it happen, take the team with you and maintain that culture over the coming years.
