Head of Claims
Role is at senior management level within the business and carries overall responsibility for the performance of the Claims Department maximising both customer and staff satisfaction and continual performance improvement and development of the team members.
Head of Claims, reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the individual will be expected to manage by example across all areas of the claims team being equally comfortable and capable with both the technical claims handling and people support and development aspects.
A true leader, they will understand and adapt to individual dynamics within a team environment to ensure that they get the best out of people at all times. Their needs to be a pro-active approach to ensuring that the department meets all strategic and performance objectives and indicators on a day-to-day basis with the ability to confidently make decisions to respond to whatever the situation requires.
As the figurehead of the Claims Team, there will be a requirement to work collaboratively with all partners, stakeholders and colleagues. This may on occasion involve attending upon solicitor clients for the purposes of audit and/or improving business relations and representing the business at events and conferences.
This is a senior role within the business suited to someone that has significant experience of managing, motivating and developing a large team operating in the legal services sector. The role is extremely challenging, and rewarding, and the individual must therefore be used to working under pressure to deliver targets and KPIs whilst responding to a significant volume of telephone enquiries on a daily basis.
Candidates MUST HAVE PERSONAL INJURY experience to be considered.
Should be currently working in the legal services industry and have an in depth knowledge of personal injury claims and related claims processes.
Able to demonstrate a background of strong management, organisational and people skills with significant experience of leading a team to consistently meet and exceed expectations in a volume driven customer service and target focused environment.
Technically competent with significant experience of delivering agreed values and objectives in a legal services position.
Strong professional reputation within the legal services industry.
Background of assessing claims for acceptance on the basis of liability, quantum, causation and limitation.
Familiar with the role and regulations of an authorised Claims Management Company
