Role Title Lead Business Analyst (Upper & Lower) Job Location: London and Edinburgh Role Description: Completes the scope, requirements analysis and business solution design aligned with the strategy for a medium to large sized project or a component(s)/ workstream of a large project/programme (typically Gold/ Silver CAT status), typically with a small team. Key Accountabilities: 1. Requirements Elicitation: Leads, designs and facilitates business engagements to establish scope, business needs, project objectives, outcomes and expectations on business processes. 2. Requirements Development: Works with business analysis team to ensure that quality business requirements are produced, accepted and approved by the key stakeholder and business solution designs can deliver effectively. 3. Requirements Management: Oversees end to end traceability against quality business requirements using appropriate tools and templates. 4. Solution Assessment & Validation: Engages with key stakeholders to influence the solution design to meet business goals, scope and strategy requirements. Provides input into the identification and delivery of project benefits, traceability of requirements and impact of solutions. Develops cross business and service user communications, acceptance test plans and supports testing and implementation. 5. Consultancy Advice & Domain Knowledge: Develops good knowledge across a number of individual business/product areas, understanding interdependency and the impact of change to provide informed consultancy advice, independent review and quality assurance. 6. Structured Approach: Defines the project objectives, scopes overall approach, plans and completes standard Change documentation and tools. 7. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain networks with a diverse group of stakeholders to influence and support the delivery of projects and champions the business analysis function. 8. People & Self Development: Manages, motivates and develops assigned team members to create a high performing team. 9. Risk: Continuously monitors projects for business analysis risk issues and regulatory compliance and takes appropriate steps to mitigate. 10. Mandatory Ability to deal effectively with uncertainty Ability to operate and influence in a complex, diverse and changing stakeholder environment Ability to work under pressure and in multiple workstreams Ability to deal with a multi-platform IT environment Ability to lead a multi stakeholder workshop Being proactive and able to problem solve Working independently and with limited direction Confidence and diplomacy when dealing with stakeholders both in business and IT Being inquisitive and analytical; not a note taker Having experience of the full project lifecycle and with various methodologies (iterative, agile, waterfall) 5 Years + experience of a payment scheme, e.g. Domestic (BACS, FPS, CHAPS) or International (SWIFT Correspondent Banking, TARGET 2, Euro 1, SEPA) 3 Years minimum on a leading Payments Engine platform e.g. GPP, Clear2Pay, Universal Payments, etc. Experience of general payments processing (accounting, reconciliation, operations) Being comfortable in working in a “one BA team” model across business and IT and experienced in completing both business and technical focus tasks. Evidence of working directly with the business to understand their needs, requirements, as-is process etc. Strong Agile delivery experience At least 5 years’ experience in change delivery and at least 3 as a Business Analyst (not a systems analyst, tester or developer) Desirable BCS Business Analysis Diploma (previously ISEB) Experience of ISO 20022
