The Role: Continuous Improvement & Lean Manager

Location: Birmingham

Sector: Automotive

Salary Range: £45,000 - £55,000

Hours of Work: 37 hours per week

Job Status: Permanent

The Client: Our global client designs, develops, manufactures and integrates an extensive range of driveline technologies for over 90% of the world’s car manufacturers.

The Role: To facilitate continuous improvement implementation through employee engagement. The primary objective is to coach and influence the site leadership and its employees to implement and sustain a beneficial change culture within each site. The CILM should challenge existing ways of thinking and working to maximise opportunities for business process improvement and complexity reduction.

Key Responsibilities:

· To lead strategic deployment

· To lead a Lean Steering Committee

· To facilitate business excellence assessment

· Reporting & KPI Management (Cumulus, QlikView)

· Creating a culture of Continuous Improvement

· Facilitate workshops focused on business improvement

· Create a culture of engagement

The ideal candidate profile

· University Degree in technical subject or equivalent

· Knowledge of Lean Production Tools

· Computer literate: Corporate desktop environment such as Microsoft Office suite, Lotus

· Promotes essential facilitation and Leadership skills

· Demonstrates strong problem solving skills

· Must be willing to participate in Phase 1 CILM Training with applied learning on-the-job implementation leadership training

· Must work exceptionally well in team environments and be adept at motivating co-workers Must showcase effective communication and ability to coach others

· Must be a proven leader within a relevant discipline and a quick learner who is adaptive to and embraces change

· Must have experience working in a manufacturing environment

· Must have experience with value stream mapping and/or four fields mapping

· Experience working with Lean tools (ex. Qlikview, Cumulus) is beneficial

· Six sigma training/certification is favourable
