3rd Line Support Technician
Up to £230 a day Public Sector Worcester The Role Our client is looking to appoint a highly skilled 3rd Line Support technician on an initial 6 month contract to help with a variety of ongoing projects. This person will be asked to install, support and maintain all the business critical systems including email, Active Directory, Citrix, SharePoint and network access and security. Responsibilities will include: Support and maintenance of the back office systems including Citrix, SQL Services and financial and HR systems Support and development of the network security technologies including implementing encryption technologies, anti-virus, firewalls and access control technologies To develop and maintain the existing network architecture, working with VPN solutions, MPLS and leased lines To utilise high availability technologies within disaster recovery including clustering, server virtualisation, DFS and SAN online storage Document and maintain procedures to ensure that network and system changes are made in a controlled manner The Person As a 3rd Line support technician, it is essential that you experience in a similar role. You will need to have excellent customer skills to be able to deliver a first rate service. You will also need experience with: Windows Server, Exchange and Active Directory Strong networking skills, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VOIP, VPNs and firewall security A strong working knowledge of Cisco A good knowledge of server virtualisation using either VMware or Hyper-V Any experience with Citrix, SQL Server and SharePoint would be a huge advantage This role will have reasonable travel so a driving licence is a must The Company Our client is a leading public services body.
