A Global Financial Services organisation currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Application Management to join their established but growing Technology Practice. This is a permanent position, based in Cheshire. Technology Practice The Technology Practice is a support organisation which provides internal application teams with the tools and knowledge expertise to manage their estate from build to production. Overall purpose of role: * To manage & refine the new requirements that are received and the flow in to the engineering team for the build out of automation * Driving adoption, maturity and automation through the strategic tooling and targeting opportunities to deliver benefits back to the business * Provide consistent measured reporting on the success of the tooling and automation strategy * Contribute to the future direction of the initiative, optimise and review all internal process and procedures in line with Agile & DevOps and Kaizen Key Accountabilities and Skills required: * A requirements gathering and analysis background is preferred, but the applicant must have a strong back ground in development and preferably application monitoring or an understanding of log analytics * Management of a small team to help define & deliver solutions against the agreed strategy in conjunction with the delivery team * Collaboratively work with the Engineering Lead to optimise the delivery to the stakeholders * Liaising with vendors to drive product direction and assist with driving maturity of tooling within the bank Your Skills and Qualifications will include: * Strong Agile & Devops background * Proven analytical and problem solving capability demonstrable experience of managing a team to deliver high quality solutions * Proven experience of delivering a technology strategy across complex architectures * Highly effective communicator with the ability to translate and present technology issues and scenarios to non-technologists both verbally and written. * Ability to use technical knowledge and prior experience to devise new and creative solutions to technical and operational issues in order to mitigate customer and operational impact. **Should the above be of interest, please apply immediately to receive a more detailed job specification
