Our client is a leading supplier of value-added, technology-based products and services for freight rail, passenger transit and select industrial markets worldwide. Through its subsidiaries, the company manufactures a broad range of products for end markets such as locomotives, freight cars, passenger transit vehicles and power generation equipment, for both original equipment and aftermarket applications as well as building new locomotives up to 5,400 horsepower, and providing aftermarket maintenance and services for locomotives and passenger transit vehicles. Our client is looking for an experienced Project Manager to provide overall management of the core team to ensure that all project deadlines are met, kept to budget and meet the customers' satisfaction. Your Key Duties will be: * Drive the implementation (across the core team) of the key project management processes (scope definition, planning, governance, risks and opportunities management, change management, margin improvement plans, gate reviews) * Manage customer contract and satisfaction (including contractual obligations, contract variations and claims) * Report the performance of the project (operational and financial) to the defined governance procedures. * For projects with the company's UK staff (or contractors) at customer location, manage the company's team (including line management) Person Specification: * Someone who can lead the interface with customers, demonstrating a professional and structured approach * Someone who can lead the project core team (including involved sister companies), driving the team to deliver the project on time, within budget and the contractual obligations * Graduate * Business acumen - someone who is commercially/legally aware * Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation * Discrete and diplomatic - someone who can demonstrate impartiality of judgement * Organised - someone who is able to manage multiple tasks as well as staff * Strong communicator * Full driving License * Flexibility with travelling in the UK What's in it for you? * 25 days annual leave + bank holidays * EE pension contribution matched up to 5% * Competitive salary * Company sick pay after a qualifying period.
