An assignment is available for a Junior Software/ Control Systems Engineer to work on UK based water projects from our clients design office in Reading. Our client is a specialist in Automation. Roles and Responsibilities: Role: Junior Software Engineer / Systems Engineer Type: Permanent Location: Reading Hours: 40 per week Our client is a leading controls systems company and specialist in automation that supports a number of water projects, they are expanding their team in Reading. Current projects include legacy upgrades to clean and waste water plants around the Southern region. As a full solutions provider projects are through the full systems engineering lifecycle. The Junior Engineer is to assist in the delivery aspects of the project and the role will be a mix of BBL-Rockwell reverse migration of code, production of site access documentation, project coordination duties and production of engineering information for manufacture. The successful candidate will be part of a team delivering these projects to scope, time & cost. Key Responsibilities will include:- • To design and Implement smart alarm functionality. • Upgrading of legacy PLC / SCADA / DCS systems. • Coding instrumentation to new instruments. • Developing and fault checking I/Os. The role will be based in the Reading area HQ, with visits to Local sites. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering company. Person Specification: The following would be of benefit to your application:- • Wastewater treatment (WWTW) projects experience. • Current / recent Siemens S7 (Step7) experience. • Use of Siemens automation tools, i.e. Simatic / TIA. • Experience of Rockwell PLCs. Essential Experience : Qualifications: HND or Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Instrument or Systems)
