JOB TITLE: Criminal Duty Solicitor
PQE REQUIRED: 2 years+ PQE
LOCATION: Wiltshire (Commutable from: Chippenham, Swindon, Chipping Sodbury, Bath & Trowbridge)
The appointed Criminal Duty Solicitor will join a team of experts who represent clients in all matters of criminal law. The team currently take on cases that are being heard in the police station, Magistrates Court, Crown Court and Court of Appeal. The workload is likely to be varied and the appointed Solicitor will really get the chance to experience all areas of criminal law, with no two days being the same. The team is full of professionals who have between them, a vast array of experience and for the successful Criminal Duty Solicitor, there is a real chance here to learn a broad range of knowledge and develop a wide skillset.
The ideal Solicitor will have two years of experience working within a criminal department and will ideally have duty status. Our client will also consider applications from Solicitors who are police station accredited and can be trained up to obtain their duty status. The Solicitor should have knowledge of all areas of criminal law and, ideally, have had experience of attending both the police station and Court. Ideal candidates will be flexible and will be prepared to attend the police station outside of working hours.
