Main Grade Lecturer - Mechanical Engineering 32-33Kpa plus 3K Market Supplement Our client is looking for an outstanding professional to join their team as a Main Grade Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering to work on a permanent full-time basis. You will be developing and delivering learning programmes for full time and/or part time learners and achieve high standards in teaching and learning, completion rates, attainment levels and progress of the learners.The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering an exceptional teaching and learning experience for learners aged 16-18 on Study Programmes and L2/L3 Apprenticeship Programmes. They will also have a strong desire to share a love of their subject and industry and motivate and encourage learners to reach their full potential. THE MAIN CRITERIA REQUIRED IS Essential a) Should have workshop/work experience on lathes and milling machines. b) Have a minimum of a PTLL's teaching qualification AND be willing to work towards a CERT Ed. c) Have a current/previous DBS check. Desirable a) Should have experience with pneumatics and hydraulics KEY QUALITIES SOUGHT HNC, or equivalent qualification in Engineering (at least BENG for HNC). A relevant teaching qualification. Excellent subject specific knowledge and skills, specifically around working with lathes, milling machines and including hand fitting skills. Up to date knowledge of CAD, CNC, and solid works knowledge would be an advantage. A good knowledge of engineering maths, science, product design, engineering drawing and materials. A wide knowledge base of maintenance engineering of all types. Relevant industrial experience. Exemplary use of technology (to be incorporated in teaching). Maths and English skills at level 2 (GCSE or equivalent). Excellent literacy and communications skills are essential. DUTIES To act as an effective Course Leader to meet organisational targets. Undertake an annually agreed teaching commitment. Provide sound pre-entry advice and assessment to enable appropriate effective enrolment to take place. Compile and be accountable for course administration such as registers, attendance patterns, learner reports and related statistical information including reports upon agreed targets To undertake all administration and academic tasks such as lesson plans, schemes of work, learner tracking and assessment, and other course related duties to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum and accurate course planning. Implement organisational policies and practices in respect of teaching, learning and support. To assist in the development of learning resources to suit learner styles and advise on curriculum design and innovation. Carry out tutorials to support learning including enrichment activities when appropriate. Review, assess and reward learners and achievement and comply with internal and awarding body standards. Participate in personal developmental activities negotiated through the organisational appraisal process. Your role within the team will be to provide expert teaching to cohorts of learners throughout the duration of their qualifications. You will support learners as groups and individually through personal targets and learning plans to achieve to the best of their ability.
