Do you have experience of working in a Material Planning and Logistics Leader role? Are you able to work in a fast paced, team orientated environment? If so, you could be perfect for this role. We are currently looking to recruit a Material Planning and Logistics Leader for one of the world's premier global automotive suppliers. Our client is establishing a brand new, state of the art facility in the Telford area, specializing in high pressure die-casting that will design and build medium to large aluminium automotive components. Main duties and responsibilities - Responsible for MPS (Master Production Schedule) for the site across all areas - Day to day running of logistics including quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency to meet customer demands. - Work closely with Production to ensure plans and agreed corrective actions are met to protect customer supply. - Proactively react to customer schedule demands and adhere to where possible - Determine obsolete stock and remove from inventory as well as dispose from site. - Control of scrap from production and dispose from site. - Adjust production schedules as necessary to meet special order requirements. - Expedite deliveries of purchased material - Monitor supplier performance through key KPI's (delivery performance, quality and response time) and recommend changes where applicable. - Regular Perpetual Inventory and Inventory Record Accuracy (IRA) ensuring good corrective actions are in place. - Support NPI. - Manage direct reports through effective communication, leadership, coaching and mentoring. - Control transport into and out of the plant. - Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant. Essentials - Bachelor's Degree in Materials Management or an engineering related discipline - Experience of Tier 1 Automotive supply - Previous experience within a similar Planning and Logistics role within either automotive, engineering or manufacturing sector - Experience in building and developing teamExperience in carrying out interviews - Ability and desire to provide very high levels of customer service and work to high levels of accuracy - Strong ability to lead, mentor and coach team members - Strong practical knowledge of SAP/MRP/ERP systems - Lean trained - VS mapping/Material flow/ CI / KAN BAN - Good mathematical aptitude - Sound business awareness - Ability to interpret and challenge the status quo
