Position:Financial Controller Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 Location:Lingfield– travel to Fontwell is required Contract type:Permanent Hours of work:40 hours per week, 5 over 7 days. (Must be flexible) Lingfield Park Resort has a very exciting opportunity for a drivenand focused Financial Controller to join and lead the finance team. We are a unique resort based over 450 acres and comprise of one of the UK’s busiest racecourses. Set beside the racecourse is the 4* Marriott franchise hotel with 116 luxurious rooms, where guests are able to stay in the hotel with magnificent views over the racecourse, golf course and surrounding countryside. This role is to effectively manage the Finance Operation of Lingfield Park Resort and Fontwell Park Racecourse.You will be expected to work closely with senior members of the racecourse and Hotel staff including Executive Director’s (ED’s) and local management, basing yourself at Lingfield Park Resort, but travelling to Fontwell Racecourse approximately 1-2 days per month as the business requires. Within the scope of work you will be responsible for the accuracy and consistency of management accounts and reporting. You will manage and delegate duties to members of staff within the finance department to ensure the highest standard and accuracy of work is produced. Nurturing strong relationships with each of the racecourse ED’s and provide detailed financial information and advice to each course as requested. This will also include regular reviews at each of the courses to ensure full compliance with internal and external reporting and accounting requirements. Alongside this you will work closely with the Executive Directors and Group Financial Controller in the strategic planning of the businesses, providing information wherever necessary to assist in achieving the goals and targets as set by the company. The nature of the business demands flexibility over working hours to suit each event and the preparation involved. The role demands a high level of accuracy as well as good people management and communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes: Qualified member of an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification. Must hold a full driving license, with the ability to travel across multiple sites. Minimum of 2 years post-graduation experience Experience of leading both strategic and operational teams. Racecourse, sport or leisure background is a distinct advantage Commercially astute Strong IT, analytic and modelling skills Excellent communicator Ability to influence at all levels Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision making. Customer service focused (internal and external). Organised, systematic and process driven. Flexible approach towards working patterns and the ability to work to meet the needs of the business.
