Our client is a leading supplier of value-added, technology-based products and services for freight rail, passenger transit and select industrial markets worldwide.

Through its subsidiaries, the company manufactures a broad range of products for end markets such as locomotives, freight cars, passenger transit vehicles and power generation equipment, for both original equipment and aftermarket applications as well as building new locomotives up to 5,400 horsepower, and providing aftermarket maintenance and services for locomotives and passenger transit vehicles.

Our client is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to provide engineering support for the UK business. You will be expected to apply a range of engineering skills to produce technically sound proposals, with due consideration given to manufacturing capabilities, product design requirements and product costs.

Your main duties will include:
* Preparation of product specifications and calculations, which will typically include:
- Equipment proposal drawings
- Undertake Obsolescence studies for existing FT and non-FT products
- Design and develop solutions to maintain system function where obsolescence issues occur
- Technical Specifications for overhaul and upgrades
- Validation of technical solutions on accordance with Rail standards
- Clause by clause responses to specifications/standards as required
- Collation and presentation of all forms of data in the preparation of Technical Offer
- Engineering calculations to determine equipment suitability
prepare and support Risk Assessments in order to achieve equipment acceptance
- Present information and data to various audiences including Customers.
* Undertake product testing
* Develop and conduct static and dynamic vehicle testing of equipment
* Communicate verbally and in written form with colleagues, associated FT functions,
suppliers and customer as required to achieve job responsibilities

Person Specification:
* Ideally you will have a degree in Engineering, although an HND or equivalent and relevant
experience will be considered
* Experience of rail products
* Previous experience of project management
* Capable of writing technical documents - knowledge of UK Rail Standards (RGS, TSI, CSM,
* Proven track record of successful project delivery
* Fully conversant with Microsoft office applications
* Able to travel regularly in the UK and Ireland
* Able to travel throughout Europe, from time to time
* Full driving licence
