Engineering Manager
£35,000 - £40,000 (Flexible dependent upon experience)

The role:

The role of Engineering manager will involve working closely with the Engineering Director and a small in-house team of engineers, you will have a passion for driving professionalism, quality and continuous improvement across the business whilst taking on the responsibility of driving the engineering department forward. You will play an active role in the management team, implementing a companywide improvement plan.

You will have experience in building/leading a team of professionals, with proven ability motivating them to deliver the best.

The Role

·Leading on engineering projects from concept to completion.

·Leading the team in manufacturing rail components using various techniques such as welding, fabrication, machining…

·Writing and developing technical instructions, route cards, BOM’s…

·Implementing process improvements through lean techniques – driving a culture of continuous improvement.

·Ensuring the benefits of the MRP systems are maximized.

·Decisive assessment of the viability and costs of new projects in support of initial estimation.

·Monitoring of project costs and the requirements to allow an initial estimation.

You should be a qualified engineer with a passion for problem solving and ideally an interest in the Rail, Rolling Stock sector. You will be experienced within manufacturing and new product introduction (NPI), having commercial flair and a proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Ideally you will have experience within the rail or automotive sector or other quality led industries, will be ambitious and able to take ownership of your projects. If you're interested in this and would like more detail, please apply on-line without delay.
