Our client, a leading training provider based in Brighouse, West Yorkshire are currently seeking a Engineering Curriculum Manager (vocational) to join their team.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
  • Manage the safe, efficient and effective operation of the Skills Training Department in compliance with the requirements of the HSE, EAL, City & Guilds, ESFA, OFSTED and KITS Policies & Procedures.
  • Achieve the objectives of our clients Annual Business Plan through the efficient management of resources in the skills training department, to operate within budget and to maintain/increase profitability
  • Supervise the efficient and effective development of the Engineering Instructors/Assessors on a day-to-day basis
  • Effectively manage staff training and development to ensure business plan objectives, customer requirements and staff personal development needs are met
  • Provide support, advice and guidance to Learners and their employers throughout the apprenticeship programme. On-going assessment of evidence produced towards NVQ and Functional Skills qualifications.
  • Work in line with our clients QMS System

KEY TASKS
  • Take the lead responsibility in production of Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan
  • Discipline, Safety, Welfare and Safeguarding of learners within Skills Training Centre (Engineering)
  • Ensure coverage of training programmes as laid down by SEMTA (EAL), units of competence and other lead bodies as appropriate
  • Supply Chief Executive with routine (monthly) operational/monthly reports
  • Implement and maintain stock control and inventories of equipment, tool, materials necessary for the correct training
  • Ensure completion of accurate and detailed 6 week reports
  • Ensure effective IQA arrangements
  • Management of exam invigilation rostering
  • Attend KITS management meetings as required
  • Attend PR, Careers events and represent KITS business and learning programmes
  • Identification of further training needs to provide possible extra business for our client.
  • Centre co-ordinator - assessment centre – EAL, City & Guilds
  • Staff appraisal/departmental training plan/performance reviews (performance management scheme)
  • Ensure Skills Training Centre (Engineering) facilities are fit for purpose and are maintained/repaired accordingly
  • Maximise funding on ESFA contract, monitoring performance on a monthly basis and agreeing annual performance
  • Ensure department operates within agreed budgets and generates a financial surplus to allow re-investment and growth
  • Management of Health and Safety, training, monitoring and assessment of skills training department, learners therein and in company
  • Act as nominee during Ofsted inspections
  • Learner progression and associated tracking
  • Perform related and other duties as required
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • Certificate in Education
  • Minimum HNC or equivalent
  • 5 years minimum experience in training or further education delivery
  • 5 years management experience at a senior level
  • Financial Management
  • Engineering time served or equivalent experience
  • Qualifications -EAL/City and Guilds/BTEC/STEM subject
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
