We’re looking for a dynamic, motivated, high performing Legal Adviser to provide Croner clients with broad-based commercial legal advice and support on the telephone. From time to time the successful candidate may also be asked to advise and support clients in connection with personal law issues (e.g. family, wills and probate) and employment law issues (particularly in the context of employment tribunal litigation).

Duties will include:
  • Provide legally accurate and pragmatic commercial legal and personal legal advice via telephone.
  • In each case analyse the issue, identifying any risks and offer the client options to reach the desired outcome.
  • Ensure that the client is clear about the advice that has been provided.
  • Ensure that the client understands the rationale behind the options.
  • Legal content and provide support with internal and external training, including via webinar, as and when required.
  • Provide commercial legal support to the business as required.
  • Provide appropriate advice to clients on tribunal matters/settlement agreements.
  • Enter proper pleadings, ensuring all relevant legal arguments are presented.
  • Draft compromise agreements, ensuring all relevant claims are dealt with effectively.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients as appropriate.
Skills and experience required:
  • A law degree or qualification together with a high standard of commercial legal knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills and telephone manner.
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems quickly.
  • Commercial awareness so as to be able to offer pragmatic solutions to clients.
  • Working knowledge of individual employment law and experience of advising employers in relation to the same.
  • Comfortable with dealing with a variety of software packages.
  • Pursues personal development to keep up-to-date with commercial law and recent case law.
