We are looking to recruit an Engineering Manager

Job Role

To provide strategic technical leadership across the UK to deliver significant business growth and profitability

To establish and effectively lead the highly capable in county technical services team who will deliver against the strategic objectives for the contract

To implement and maintain business improvement and process improvement into all areas of technical services across the UK

To provide leadership on all technical services practices and guidance to the region as the subject matter expert

To provide technical direction and expertise to the operating region by promoting Capture strategies and service offers

To actively work across the UK with the Directors and as part of the Senior Leadership team

Accountabilities:

·Define a robust and achievable strategy which will successfully improve the UK performance in technical services and energy management

·Become a service line of excellence to clients

·Develop and manage the performance of the engineering team

·Ensure exploitation of all income opportunities within existing client portfolio and prospective organic growth

·Support the sustainable profit contribution of the UK including management of working capital, profit and loss, balance sheet and asset management

·Drive excellence in operational delivery to new and existing clients to maximise operational excellence

·Develop a competent UK operational team to deliver consistent service delivery by ensuring effective leadership of all engineering activity

·Pioneer the use of best-practice engineering throughout the UK to ensure achievement against all contractual business plans

·Development of policy, strategy and procedures for technical delivery

·Ensuring that all aspects of the business are conducted in accordance with all relevant statutory requirements and Codes of Practice.

·In conjunction with the sales team support the delivery of the pipeline of new projects to meet the sales targets and contribute to the success of re-bids

·Engage with high-value clients on a routine basis and lead by example in providing excellence in contract/relationship management

·Establish industry networks to ensure continuous improvement and to provide insight through the effective use of market data and operational delivery techniques

·Manage relationships and key interfaces with the client and the clients' key decision makers

Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

·To be agreed – to specify KPIs relating to financial and operational metrics (sales growth, EBIT, market share, client acquisition/retention)

Knowledge, skills and experience

Essential

Client business language is English – therefore must have excellent oral and written English

Engineer with over 10 years’ experience

Experience of having operated successfully at a senior technical level within an outsourced B2B environment

Experience of working in critical security environments

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior technical role

Demonstrable track record of developing successful operational strategies across a broad portfolio

Exceptional client relationship management skills

Excellent communication and PC skills

Development of commercially viable solutions based on rigorous techniques to understand client needs and price products/services accordingly

Considerable experience in private sector technical service delivery

Proven financial acumen essential with commercial experience and business acumen

Proven track record of initiating and leading demanding business change programmes

Proven experience of developing profitable relationships with clients

Proven experience in identifying and selling new business

H&SE experience

Travel throughout the UK with occasional overnight stays

Proven track record of leading and managing experienced operators and large numbers of employees

Excellent communication, influencing and facilitation skills

High standards of numeracy and written communication, particularly sales/bid copy

Engineering base qualification preferably electrical/electronic

Full clean UK driving licence

Desirable

Chartered membership

H&SE qualification

Representative and active involvement on Industry bodies
