Deputy Chief Actuary sought for a leading General Insurer to provide an oversight / review function for all Pricing, Reserving and Capital work.

This role reports to the Chief Actuary, and you will also have a dotted reporting line to the CRO / Board. You will manage a team of five to conduct a thorough review of all Actuarial work (models, processes, governance) across the entire business, and report back with feedback and recommendations.

A substantial proportion of your role will be focussed on keeping up to date with the latest developments in the industry / profession, by attending seminars and training events. You will be expected to take a proactive approach to this and encourage your team to do the same, by undertaking some reading on a new area of work in the office for example.

You must be comfortable dealing with difficult stakeholders and have the ability to negotiate with them in a diplomatic manner, whilst still reaching a mutually agreeable outcome.

Required Skills & Experience:

- Qualified Actuary (or equivalent)

- General Insurance experience (in any area)

- Excellent leadership and coaching skills

- Appetite for continuous learning

- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

- Experience of negotiating with stakeholders
