You will be working for one of the UK's largest and well known facilities management companies who turnover £3.5 billion in the UK and £16 billion worldwide. They are responsible for a number of large prestigious contracts / buildings within the UK. They employ engineers, help-desk and back house support of facilities maintenance among many other positions. They have over 20,000 UK based staff on over 26000 UK sites.

They are now looking to recruit a CHP Service Engineer to work mobile across the Midlands with some National cover when needed. To ensure the effective running and performance of the CHP fleet across the clients contracts, through cost effective maintenance (reactive & planned), 24hr response in the form of standby/call-out, and additional works to improve profitability and asset utilization.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out the defined CHP planned maintenance regime for all contractual obligations
  • Undertake relevant CHP “condition based” maintenance tasks in line with manufacturers specifications
  • Carry out repairs, overhauls, reactive maintenance and minor installation works on associated plant
  • Attend, diagnose and repair faults having due regard to customer care in this environment
  • To ensure maximum availability of single to multi-engine sites by means of scheduled and proactive maintenance
  • Provide 24h response, diagnosis and repair where required. Call-out on a rota basis
  • Complete accurate service documentation from site works, site paperwork, and report diligently to maintain and manage site and vehicle parts stocks.
  • Liaise with CHP Manager/Contracts Managers and subcontractors when on site
  • Ensure relevant health & safety policy is adhered to.
  • Have an understanding on permit to work systems and all other health & safety requirements
  • Ability to work unsupervised and work as part of a team.
  • CHP operation it critical to the profitability of the business and any unnecessary down time or reduced performance has a direct impact.
  • Describe the sort of thinking challenge that the job presents. What sorts of problems are dealt with by the job holder and what sort of problems are typically resolved at a higher level.
  • Experience of CAT or Edina engines
Qualifications Desired:
  • Experience of maintenance and repair of small to large scale CHP engines, and standby generators
  • Electrical technical qualifications
  • CHP Gas Certified
  • First Aid Qualified
  • Extensive knowledge of CHP systems and associated controls (experience with MWM & CAT preferred)
  • Working knowledge of the CHP industry
  • Experience working on MTHW and steam systems
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage both customer and team expectations/requirements
