Senior Lending Documentation Officer

We are currently looking for a Senior Lending Documentation Officer, to play an important role in our team, right in the centre of Manchester. You’ll be part of a team that works in partnership with our business centres who look after our valuable SME business customers.

We’ll look to you to provide specialised legal support to the relationship teams, and take responsibility for overseeing the production of high quality legal documentation on facilities up to £5m. Use your technical ability to review banking documentation which will span a wide variety of transactions. Use your people skills to mentor, coach and manage high-performing colleagues - ensuring they have everything they need to support our customers in reaching their full potential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing facility letters and ancillary legal documentation.
  • Ensuring documentation is robust and accurately reflects the structure and agreed terms of transactions.
  • Liaising with other parts of the bank and relevant teams.
  • Supervising and developing colleagues.
  • Developing legal knowhow.

Who we're looking for:
You will be:

  • A banking solicitor OR a corporate solicitor/ real estate finance solicitor with experience of drafting and negotiating facility documentation.
  • A team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

You will have:

  • At least 3 years’ PQE.
  • Experience of a range of finance transactions.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong technical ability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating an ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels.
  • A positive, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to your work.
  • Effective personal organisational and time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple demands.
  • The ability to work to tight timescales with a sense of urgency.
  • Common sense, commerciality and the ability to exercise sound judgement.
  • A strong desire to train and develop others, as well as yourself.
