This exciting new role belongs to the Rolling Stock Business Unit.As the Testing and Commissioning Technician of the Transpennine Coach Project, you will have responsibilities for taking the trains, one by one, from the production team and carrying out a structured, purpose written test plan in order to ensure that every single system on the train is in full working order before handing over to the Depot.The role will be based in Manchester but during your initial, you will receive a training of approximately 4 months in:ØSpain (Basque Country region), at the train manufacturing site (headquarters);ØCzech Republic (Velim region), at the railway circuit V.U.Z
DUTIES AND RESPONSABILTIES·Carry out on-board testing for several test trains before their release into service.·Ability to work at complex level tasks involving troubleshooting, testing, quality control, tuning, complicated repairs, interacting with production supervisor to discuss and/or resolve problems.·Ensures that assignments are completed in the established time standards.Fills test reports, internal adjustments, and pending job information accurately
·REQUIRED ACADEMIC SKILLS: Minimum NVQ level 3 in electrical or mechanical discipline·REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: It is required relevant experience in a testing and engineering equivalent role in railway/rolling stock environment.
·LANGUAGES: English, Spanish would be a plus
Competent to carry out work solely and to an advanced level
Ability to work on teamMay be required to work overtime
