EJ163 – Battery Service Engineer

Location: M4 Corridor

Salary: £22,000 - £25,000


The Field Service Engineer will provide standby battery maintenance, installation and commissioning support both in the field and by telephone to customers and clients who have paid for our services. The role does require some staying away from home to satisfy contractual requirements, and you will be expected to work some weekend days as required by the company, overtime will be paid or can be taken in lieu.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out routine battery maintenance activities.
  • Carrying out Installation and commissioning, fault diagnosis of battery standby power systems. To include monitoring and associated warning systems.
  • Ensuring that the standards of service are maintained and improved in line with company requirements.
  • Showing initiative in the generation of income for the company.
  • Highlighting further site actions if required.
  • Completing paperwork relating to site visits.
  • Completing personal expenditure claims including, cash expenses, mileage logs and other expenses.
  • Carrying out any reasonable additional tasks as and when required.

  • Ability to act with a sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in collaborative environment and to communicate effectively with clients and end users.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Self-directed/motivated
  • A basic command of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Full UK clean driving licence (need to have 7.5 tonne C1/ Grandfather rights)
  • Ideally previous experience with standby Battery systems, but not essential as training will be given.
  • 17th Edition certifications or equivalent is preferred.
