Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Location: Bollington (Cheshire)

Salary: £16,000 - £19,000 (Bonus, Life cover and Pension)

Our Client is a specialist in the specification and installation of integrated electronic systems predominantly to the commercial market. The Sales Officer role requires someone who has the ability to take responsibility for their own workload, and manage their diary to maximise sales opportunities.

The Role:

In this role, you will find you will be required to support all external suppliers and other internal departments, but key links must be maintained with the Group Operations Manager, Service Manager Client Account Managers, Procurement & Admin departments, and Sub-contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing on Sage 50
  • Managing Purchase Orders
  • Managing Suppliers (Account queries / Credit Limits / Account Reconciliations)
  • Daily Banking - Inputting and processing payments and Supplier invoices
  • Generating Weekly Supplier Payment Run
  • Filing Supplier Invoices
  • Generating Bacs Payments
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Managing Petty Cash
  • Working with Excel spreadsheets
  • Managing the Company Credit Cards process - monthly statements / posting transactions on the system, etc.
  • Answering telephone calls, dealing with client/supplier/staff queries
  • Maintain office stationery levels

Required Knowledge:

  • Purchase orders through to invoice
  • Basic Bookkeeping skills
  • The ability to work to a very high standard to meet tight deadlines
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office - advanced Excel skills, including Macros, Pivot Tables and vlookup's, would be an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Well organised and efficient, with the ability to plan and control workload
  • The ability to multi-task


  • AAT qualification or genuine interest in future study
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 and CASH for Windows an advantage

Candidates with experience or relevant job titles of; Accounts Executive, Accounts Manager, Accountant Assistant, Bookkeeper, Invoicing Assistant, Financial Administrator, Account Coordinator, Finance Manager, Finance Assistant, Administrator, Secretary, Personal Assistant may also be considered for this role.
