Location: Head Office, West Bromwich

The Society is looking to recruit an experienced Head of IT Service and Security to be responsible for leading a number of IT functions and deliver the Society’s live Application and Infrastructure services to agreed service levels, securely. The successful candidate will contribute to the Society’s IT Strategy, through input, design and eventual delivery of services which will enable the Society to evolve and change its IT operating model.

This is a new role that has been created which will provide an excellent opportunity for the right individual to develop further or seek a new challenge in their career.

Key Responsibilities:

·Ensure all IT development is aligned to the IT strategy and support all projects to deliver to time, cost and quality

·Lead and develop a strong, experienced and well-motivated team including IT Business Systems Group, IT Security team and Data Centre Services team to achieve their objectives in line with the Corporate Plan and IT strategy

·Identify and manage risks within the IT function and ensure they are adequately mitigated, in line with risk appetite

·Control budget and report on expenditure

·Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems to the IT estate and purchase efficient and cost effective technology equipment and software

·Manage the resource allocation of the IT department to optimise the use of resources

·Deputise for the Divisional Director IT and Change when appropriate

Skills & Attributes:

·Proven experience of IT management gained within an IT run environment, ideally with at least three of those years within a financial organisation

·Strong knowledge of computer systems (hardware/software) with experience of IT outsourcing, cloud technologies and moving IT functions from a fixed to variable cost model

·Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications

·Experience of implementing and then operating ITIL and SIAM frameworks

·Excellent communication skills

·Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively

·High standard of personal motivation and initiative with evidence of great leadership skills
