Job Title: Payroll Project Manager - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Location: Birmingham

About the role

You will be responsible for the successful management of Serco’s Payroll system transition.

Leading the project team you will define the changes required ensure the implementation plan remains on target, working very closely with the HR, Payroll, IS and IT teams to identify the impact of any changes on the HR & Payroll processes and systems.

This role is a role is identified as critical to the transition to the new Payroll Solution and will be key to the delivery of £4.6 million worth of savings over a 5 year period and will be pivotal to driving and implementing change initiatives for the new payroll.

We require a specialist whose aim is to achieve a standard operating model for payroll, reducing complexity and error - to accomplish this the candidate must be able to consider how we use our current tools, how we deliver our services and what we need to change and implement to make a significant difference.

About you

  • Strong Project Management expertise and/or a Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMI)

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of implementing HR & Payroll solutions.

  • Outcome and target focused and commercially aware.

  • Leadership skills with a pragmatic approach in implementing specific solutions at various customers

  • Has implemented/led a technology solution through all project phases.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Produces good quality work, delivers technical and analytical results, and demonstrates value creation for smaller projects.

  • Combines methodology to new approaches as a response to customer needs.

  • Pro-actively manage resource on the project to ensure smooth and continuous delivery.

  • Ability to gain control of a project quickly and effectively even if project already some way into delivery phase. Flexible and adaptable style and skill set based on the type of project and stakeholder.
