Our client is a world leader in the design and manufacture of products for the commercial wireless infrastructure market. Exporting around the globe, their customer base includes the world’s leading mobile network operators and OEMs.
Their company is experiencing strong growth and is looking to recruit a highly experienced microwave filter design engineer plus a recent graduate engineer to its first class engineering team. The successful candidates will be qualified to degree level in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Candidates for the senior position will have several years’ experience in the design of microwave filters. The successful candidate for the Graduate role will receive intensive on-the-job training.
Key Aspects of Role:
•Understanding of electrical network theory•Synthesis and optimization of electrical filters, using software tools•Electro-magnetic simulation of radio-frequency structures using CST or similar software•Innovation and development of new microwave filter technologies•Physical realization and tuning of electrical filters, especially cavity comb-line filters•Mechanical CAD software such as Solidworks or similar•Excellent written and oral communication skills including fluency in English•Preparation of professional reports and technical aspects of commercial proposals.•Design of distributed and lumped-element passive radio frequency networks on PCBs•Business travel within the UK and to other countries.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum: Upper 2nd class honours degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or closely related discipline.
Desirable: MSc / MEng or PhD in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, specialising in microwave engineering.
For the senior position: at least 5 years work experience designing microwave filters.
