Salary of up to £28,000 (Dependent on experience) + 25 days' holiday, based out of Buttershaw. We can also offer Part-Time working of 3/4 days working, however, that must include a Friday. Based out of Leeds or Bradford

What will the role involve?

Your role will involve acting as secretary to the Kelda Stakeholder+ Governance Group and the Kelda Group Pension Plan (KGPP) Governance Sub-Committee (GSC), in both cases preparing agendas with the Chair, minuting the meetings and attending to follow-up actions as required (eight meetings a year).

Assist with the preparation, collation and despatch of quarterly KGPP Trustee Board papers. Attend quarterly Trustee Board meetings as back-up for Secretary, and to build own knowledge and understanding of pensions issues and projects being dealt with. Maintain the KGPP minute book, electronic master minutes' file and the Stakeholder meetings file.

Maintain individual trustee training records and arrange for annual sign-off by each trustee. Check and process trustee director expenses through Kelda Finance Dept. Organise event logistics for two Trustee training days per annum. Liaise with Capita on member queries, on-going administration issues and the annual production of active and deferred electronic member benefit statements to the agreed timetable and budget.

Advise on and process pension requests made under the Flexible Working with Pension Policy and liaise with Capita for production of illustrations and putting pension into payment where appropriate.

Maintain/keep up to date Pension Pages on the hive (intranet). Ensure Hartlink online (for the KGPP) is kept up to date with relevant and new material. Arrange for delivery of four pre-retirement courses per annum in liaison with Learning and Development Dept and present on the on the Kelda pension arrangements at each session.

Be available to assist at monthly Yorkshire Water new starter inductions to deal with pension queries. Act as key point of contact for the Kelda Stakeholder+ Arrangement. Provide telephone, written and face-to-face advice and assistance to DC and DB scheme members and colleagues as required.

Prepare case documentation for payment authorisation on member deaths, children's pensions, lump sums and ill-health applications. Upon instruction from the Pensions Manager, prepare documentation for authorisation of KGPP dis-investment requests, liaising with Capita, Hymans Robertson and the relevant investment manager.

Participate in monthly conference action log calls with Capita to progress on-going issues and non-routine member cases. Check/audit Kelda's monthly pension contribution report provided by payroll against Capita's confirmation of receipts. Arrange for annual review and check of Pension Saver wording to ensure it remains up to date and relevant.

What skills are we looking for?

  • PMI part or fully qualified, with at least two years in pensions administration.
  • Will have (or be able to) completed the Pension Regulator's Trustee Toolkit.
  • Has good technical skills and understanding in the pensions arena e.g. the role of the Pensions Regulator, governance, investments, the role of advisors, communications and the workings of a Trustee board.
  • Able to multi-task across a range of issues and respond to changing deadlines.
  • Ability to liaise with professional advisors, administrators and colleagues in a clear, understandable and sensitive manner.
  • Protect member data and keep matters confidential.
