Proactive Personnel Ltd is proud to be working with our client, a prestigious Accountancy firm and assisting them with their search for anPayroll Assistant based in Liverpool.
·You will provide support to the Accounts Department and Administration Team on an ad hoc basis as and when required.
·Working within a full service practice, you will be responsible for assisting in the Payroll Department whilst reporting directly to the Payroll Manager and ultimately to the Partners.
·You will have demonstrable experience working as a Payroll Assistant in a practice environment and must be fully conversant in all aspects of SAGE Payroll having extensive expertise in the latest payroll legislation and knowledge.
·You will have a proven track record of working on your own initiative and must be confident and capable in all associated aspects of payroll work whilst having strong oral and written communication skills.
·Ensuring a focus is maintained on providing excellent customer service.
·Manage all aspects of the processing of payroll.
·Maintain appropriate records and ensure all queries are responded to in a timely and accurate manner, including RTI returns, pension contributions, and other deductions taken through payroll.
·Administer auto enrolment pension schemes, ensuring deductions are made and appropriate records maintained whilst liaising with clients and pension providers as necessary.
·At off peak times you will be assisting in the Accounts Department undertaking book-keeping, bank reconciliations and basic accounts preparation.
·Provide general support to the Administration Team to include opening post, scanning and profiling of post and other internal paperwork, banking, answering incoming telephone calls and undertaking adhoc duties as required.
The successful candidate will have
·Previous experience of working in a similar role and organisation.
·Excellent technical working knowledge of SAGE Payroll is preferred.
·You must be up to date with the latest legislative regulations.
·You must have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of Tax Codes and RTI.
·Proven ability to organise and co-ordinate activities.
·Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
·Able to work on own initiative but also to co-operate with team as required.
·User with MS Office to include Email and Word.
