Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Location: Field Based - Central London (Small Route)
Main Function:
To maintain and repair various electrical, mechanical and fabric assets within the client's premises. Our client works with some of the High Streets leading restaurants, fashion outlets, fast food chains and charitable organisations alongside various office facilities in Central London.
This is a mobile route with company vehicle, uniform and tools/equipment provided alongside IPad and Fuel Card. Several parking permits are available to assist with central London parking. The company has an in house training center and a fantastic working culture amongst their engineering personnel. They are big on career development, pay an annual bonus of up to 14%, allow flexible working and encourage overtime and call outs to supplement the basic salary of £30,000/£31,000 per annum. Main Tasks and Responsibilities:To maintain and repair various electrical, mechanical and fabric assets within the client's premises as set out as the “scope of works” To ensure the clients premises are maintained to a high standard and all compliance visits are completed within the agreed timescale and within client's budgets.To build relationships with Site and Center Managers to enable smooth planning of visits and completion of tasks within the required timescale.To liaise with suppliers and third party contractors where required to arrange further visits and order materials.To plan works in liaison with office based works coordinator and regional supervisor.
Monthly Visits:To attend site as per the pre-planned schedule to carry out monthly checks to various assets which have been agreed with the client.To carry out general repairs identified by the site staff.To update the internal work / order System by the use of the company supplied iPad.To report any major defects found during monthly visit which may require a specialist contractor to attend.
Compliance VisitsTo carry out compliance visits within the skill set in line with the pre-planned programme to include PAT Testing, Emergency Lights, Fire Alarm, Fire Extinguishers.Reactive WorksTo attend reactive works within the engineers skill set and manage workloads in conjunction with monthly visits.Planned Out Of Hours WorksTo be available for a reasonable amount of out of hours works where the scope of work deems that normal working hours are not possible.Out of Hours Emergency WorkTo be available for out of hours emergency works based on the agreed duty engineer rota with a minimum requirement to be on call once per calendar month.
Knowledge and Experience: Previous experience of working in a small works and/or engineering environmentPrevious experience of working in Facilities ManagementElectrical, plumbing and fabric skills required.Good working knowledge of IT systems.Develop good and effective relationships with all aspects of the business internally and externally.Ability to lead, coach and inspire others.Demonstrate an ability to ensure confidentiality.Persuasive and effective influencing skills.Ability to take a pro-active approach and problem solveSelf-motivatedExcellent planning and organisational skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to work independently or as part of a teamExcellent attendance and time keeping recordAttention to detailAbility to achieve resultsFlexible approach to work to manage, prioritise and work to deadlines
Education and Qualification:General secondary educational qualifications including Maths and EnglishRelevant trade qualificationFull driving licence
