Our client is a UK subsidiary of the global logistics giant TVS with $10 billion annual revenues and employing more than 30,000 people worldwide. They are a market leader in their sector and provide courier services to some of the UK’s top businesses, in addition to serving the needs of locally based businesses. Operating out of over 45 Branches around the UK and Ireland and across Europe, their Head Office facility is based in Langley, Slough.

A vacancy has arisen at their Head Office based in Langley for a Purchase Ledger Manager.

You will be responsible for the maintenance of the groups purchase ledger and purchase orders across all regions covering approximately 20 countries, including the management of a small team of purchase ledger and banking clerks.

Tasks will include the following:

• Ensuring all purchase orders are raised in a timely manner for the smooth running of the business from an operational perspective and adhering to the businesses to business day policy
• Ensuring that all supplier invoices are recorded on timely basis to ensure period end closure by no later than the 8th of the following month
• Ensuring that suppliers are paid on a priority basis and in accordance with the allocated budget from the Senior Financial Controller
• Management of supplier margin templates and resolving margin queries as required
• Directing/dealing with adhoc queries from senior staff and operations as required
• Preparation of contra payments for suppliers / Customers, including intercompany accounts
• Assist with the preparation of data for VAT returns and liaise with our European VAT Advisors where required
• Assist with the capturing of month end accruals for invoices expected but not received
• Full management and appraisal of team members
• Assist with financial audits where required
• Liaising with Managerial Staff and other Colleagues

Knowledge and Experience Required:

• Suitable candidates will have Microsoft Office knowledge, excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
• Candidates must have at least 3 years previous experience of Purchase Ledger Management
• Strong organisational skills required

Hours of work 9:00am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday
