Ashdown Medway Accommodation Trust (AMAT) is a homeless charity based in Kent, with twenty-years of experience in the homeless sector. Throughout this time, AMAT has always prided itself on developing our service to meet the needs of our service users and the wider community.

We currently have an exciting recruitment opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our busy Finance team on a temporary basis. This is a full time role (40 hours per week, five days over seven), with 28 days annual leave entitlement (pro rata), and access to AMAT’s Employee Assistance Programme. Please note that bank holiday working will be required as part of this role.

This will be a fixed term contract for a three month period, but this could be extended if required. Your duties will include:

To post invoices onto Sage 200To reconcile monthly supplier statements with purchase ledger accountsTo assist with Bank reconciliationsTo carry out analysis of shortfall paymentsTo complete petty cash entries and reconciliationsTo complete credit card entries and analysisTo collect and process cash from the vending machines, washing machines, as well as shortfall and tenant’s rent paymentsTo respond to supplier queriesTo carry out administrative tasks or reports as requested by the Finance Manager

The ideal candidate will have experience in a finance role, preferably at a not for profit organisation, and excellent IT skills, with experience of using Sage 50 or 200, Sage Payroll, and Microsoft Excel to an intermediate level. You will need to have good attention to detail, and excellent problem solving and time management skills. Finance related qualifications would be an advantage but are not essential. Please note that the successful applicant will be required to have a basic disclosure check.
